There's a persistent non-biblical Israeli myth about Palestine that needs immediate clarity.

Some of these nonsensical myths claim Palestinian Muslims drove out Palestinian Christians. But history and Christians like me say otherwise. For centuries, Palestinian Christians, Muslims, and other denominations lived together in shared towns, schools, and civic life.

There's absolutely no evidence of Palestinian Muslims expelling Palestinian Christians. The major Palestinian Christian population decline began in the 1940s during massacres and forced expulsions at gunpoint by Zionist Jewish terrorists.

We Palestinian Christians and Muslims were and still are ethnically cleansed from our ancestral homeland. Palestinian Christians like me consistently reject these non-biblical Israeli myths.

In villages like al-Mujaydil, south of Nazareth, we refused to return unless our Muslim neighbors could return as well.

Today, we Palestinian Christians persistently cite the same pressures as fellow Palestinian Muslims: land loss, checkpoints, settlement expansion, and restricted movement.

The truth is simple. Palestinian Christian families like mine were not driven out by Palestinian Muslims. We were and still are affected by the same occupation and ethnic cleansing policies. One people, one shared struggle. Free Palestine.
